NEW lens!

So, I forgot to mention that last I was in Los Angeles, I bought a very large zoom lens at a great deal in downtown.  It's a Nikkor 70-300mm G.  I LOVE how close I can get to things without having to go so far and get a bigger picture just as quickly by zooming out! I use pure manual focus all the time now and so it's tons of fun.

Well, yesterday I got a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D and I have to say it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! All the raves and reviews on it are 4.5 and above out of 5, so I definitely went for it.  Everyone apparently loves it very much and I have to say that I join that fan club.  It's amazing quality for a fraction of the cost of any other lens in the same category.  You don't break the bank and I'm having so much fun testing it out before I have another photo session to shoot this weekend.  Oh, it'll be great!!!!

Here's a review on the specifics from the Ken Rockwell site.  His details are spot-on and I rely heavily on what he has to say about lenses before I buy.

I'm definitely loving all my lenses right now!!!

EEeeeeeeek! I'm squealing for joy because I'm get on to playing with them more and my son doesn't mind being the subject for attention!

Later peoples!!

I found this background!!!!

So, I found this great, plain white backboard in my cupboard this morning.  I have no idea where it's from, and it wasn't there last night, but I though it'd be such a great addition to helping me take pictures.  I started feeling sick on Sunday night too and resting with a tolddler is next to impossible.  I took some quick pictures of these today and I liked the bit of graining you can see at certain angles too in the white.  Well, I'm feeling a bit woozy anyway and I just needed to share this with you today.

I didn't worry too much about lighting and other stuff (my eyes are stinging and head hurts), I'm as exited as my sick body can allowto take pictures and test out the white background.  Yay!!!!  I still feel ackward about how it showed up...hmmm...I'll need to investigate this later.

Camera strap covers

I'm so happy I got around to making this for my camera...I actually had to stop myself from making more.  Most of these materials were from scrap left-pvers that can be bought at the clearance section of craft stores for like 0.50 cents each roll of material!!!  Yeah, I even found tulle for 0.08 cents.  Crazy, huh?

Well, here's some step I followed and I used the ideas from the blogger mom over at Nursery Rhymes and Sweet Times.  There are so many other options and style to follow at Tip Nut and One Pretty Thing.

Here's a few of the steps I followed and even kept my pattern for the rest.
This was my first time ever and it honestly took about 2 hours.  Later I made 3 more straps in about an 1 1/2  hours.  The difference being that I had someone watching my boy for the latter :-D.  Also, repurpose, reuse, recycle!

Here are the other 3 I made, depending on the type of setting I'll be in, I can change them!

For those romantic occassions!

Back pocket for lens cap.

So I can also entertain little ones.

I'm also contemplating adding a litlte bell to really get baby's attention.

My favorite! I love the colors!

Again, we can't lose that lens cap!

Well, that's it for now!  I hope you get your creative mind engaged on something for you today.  Have a great weekend!
