Fridge Magnets

These are super easy to make and VERY cute too!

YOU WILL NEED
Wodden blocks(plenty), cut smaller from a longer piece at your local home improvement store
Scrapbook paper
Varnish
Embellishments (stickers, rub-ons, lettering, flowers, jewels, etc)
Magnets
Glue gun
Tacky Glue

MAKE IT
1. Using your pre-cut wood as a stencil, cut out a piece of scrapbook paper the same size. This will be the face. Using tacky glue, use your finger(prevents bubles) to coat a thin layer on the back of the cut out paper and slowly attach to one flat side of the wood piece. Use a credit card to smooth out evenly. OPTIONAL: Cut more paper strips to cover sides of your block as well and glue on.
2. Embellish only with the deco that will be flat first, such as rub-ons, lettering, and 2D stickers. I hand wrote "Be Positive" with a brown marker. You can skip this and move on to step 3 if the paper is embellished enough.
3. Now, coat your block with varnish to set everything in place and give it a longer "lifespan." Let it dry.
4. Finish the rest of the embellishments, if any more, and glue gun to the face.   Here, my mother used a butterfly embellishment on the block that reads "talent", jewels were used on the "Music", and a flower was used on the "Positive" block...all glued AFTER the varnish dried.

5. Finally, glue gun your magnet to the back. If your block is square, place magnet on top 2/3rds of the way up, not in the center because ot will not hand correctly once on the fridge.

Make it your own.  I picked themes I can realte to and that keep me happy in general.  It's nice to have reminders that are functional and decorative as well without making holes on my walls.  These are also great gifts or just cute to help match your decor in the kitchen!
